Find the right lenses for you
Ophthalmic lens technology has advanced to cater the varying needs of
visual correction. There are many types of spectacle lenses to choose from to
fit the conditions of wearer’s activities. If you need a spectacle
prescription, there are several factors to consider when choosing the right
lenses for you; which types of lenses to pick, the materials they are made in,
and some optional coatings to maximize the comfort when wearing.
The types of lenses you choose depend on whether you want the spectacles
to suit all activities or single activity.
Single Vision Lens
If you are under age 40 and need prescription glasses, then single
vision lenses may be sufficient enough for your visual correction. Single
vision lenses have the same focal power throughout the lens to provide a single
focus.
Progressive Lenses (Multifocal Lenses)
Progressive lenses provide a gradual transition in power within the lens
to view all distance from near at hand to far across the room. If you are in
your 40s or older, wearing progressive lenses have an advantage to see all
distances clearly without taking the eyeglasses off and on.

VARILUX X SERIES
Near vision revolutionised
Wearers today need to multi-task quickly and freely. Varilux® X series™ lenses are designed with multiple fields of vision in mind. These near distance visual needs correspond to a range of between 40 and 70 cm from the wearer, known as arm’s length. Varilux X series has reinvented near vision at arm's length.
Reduced head movement
A common varifocal complaint from wearers is that they need to constantly move their head in the direction they wish to see. In all situations tested, Varilux X series wearers find they need very little head movement to find the right spot when multi-tasking at arm's reach.
Blue-violet and UV light protection with Eye Protect System
Embedded in Varilux X series, Eye Protect System protects wearers' eyes by absorbing selected blue-violet light and UV light into the lens.
Introducing Volume of Vision
Varifocal performance is measured by swim effect and binocular fields of vision. Varilux X series introduces a whole new performance criteria - Volume of Vision. When a wearer looks at a particular object through a Varilux X series lens they will now notice an improvement in depth and breadth of vision. This vision experience is exclusive to Varilux X series.
A new personalisation feature
Near vision tasks involves a whole body response, which is more complex than distance visions. For example, think of your body position when you read a tablet sat down. Varilux X series personalisation parameter ensures your patients' vision volume is positioned and shaped where and how they need it.
Lens protection with Crizal Sapphire UV
The Crizal Sapphie UV coating provides protection against UV light and is anti-reflective, scratch resistant, smudge repellent, water repellent and dust repellent.
